Fat freezing may sound like something out of a fantasy movie. However, today we can use a treatment known as CoolSculpting® to freeze your fat cells away quite literally. We invite you to find out more about how this innovative treatment works.

CoolSculpting® works with the help of a small device that is attached to your desired body part with suction. This device or pad is attached to a larger machine that then uses freezing temperatures to target your fat cells. Within the first few minutes of the procedure, your skin will become numb in that area thanks to the extreme cold. After a set time, the device will be removed, and you will be able to go on with your day.

Many of our patients love fat freezing because it does not leave them with the side effects or the need for a recovery period. Instead, they can immediately go back to work or their regular activities with little to no side effects. Most patients will want to return within a month or two for a follow-up appointment so that they can get the best results.

As you go about your life over the weeks following your fat freezing session, your body will still be hard at work dealing with your unwanted fat cells. The cells that were frozen during your treatment will be crystallized, eventually dying and being removed from your body naturally.

You should be aware that the results of CoolSculpting® are designed to be permanent. Once your body gets rid of fat cells, it can never create new ones. However, if you overeat or stop exercising, the fat cells that remain in your body can become larger. On the other hand, if you maintain your healthy lifestyle, you can enjoy your sculpted body for the rest of your life.
